Brent and Harrow Green Party - Press Release - 23 October 1999

Water Fluoridation, Our Health and Our Environment

Forced mass medication with fluoride is now threatened in the United Kingdom and London is one of the new target areas.

Artificial fluoridation of public drinking water supplies is intended to create bodily change in humans. This is mass medication of entire populations, with or without the consent of individuals. In areas where public consultations on fluoridation have been held, the majority of Councils and the public have rejected it. But New Labour is as determined to fluoridate as were the Tories, allegedly "to remove dental health inequalities".

  • The Government plans to make fluoridation compulsory for all. Science shows that fluoride is a CUMULATIVE, protoplasmic poison.
  • The Government plans to transfer the public consultation and decision-making process from health authorities to local authorities.
  • The Government plans to "legally oblige" ostensibly-private water companies to fluoridate. Several water companies responded to customers' wishes and refused to fluoridate, adding that Government indemnities to them are insufficient.

Public Meeting in Willesden Library Centre

'Water Fluoridation: whose teeth are they anyway?'
JANE JONES - Campaign Director, National Pure Water Association reveals the government plans to force water companies to fluoridate London's water - whether or not we want it. Why is this happening and what are the real effects of fluoride?

'The Greater London Authority: Its duty to protect our health and our environment'
DARREN JOHNSON - Green Party Prospective Mayoral Candidate and No1 on the Green Party list for the London Assembly discusses some of the responsibilities of the new Greater London Authority.

Mr Johnson says: "The Greater London Authority will have a responsibility for promoting improvements in the health of Londoners. The key to a healthy London is through attacking the root causes of ill health - tackling poverty and pollution and promoting safe healthy food - not through mass-medication schemes like water fluoridation."

Public Meeting on Wed 6 October from 8pm to 10pm. Free Admission.
Willesden Suite, Willesden Library Centre, 95 High Road, Willesden NW10 (Corner of Grange Road).
