Neasden Lane Pollution

Pete Murry has asked Brent Council, the local councillor and MP and finally the Environmental Agency about the nature of dust pollution at the depot in Neasden Lane. Update to follow.

Brent Committee to Defend Asylum Seekers

The B&HGP banner was one of several Green Party banners at the national demo to defend asylum seekers in July 2000 and B&HGP supports the local Brent campaign which has organised leaflettings of local supermarkets against the discriminatory voucher system which many asylum seekers are forced to use to obtain food and some other necessities.  Successful leaflettings have taken place at Kilburn Sainsbury's, Somerfield in Willesden and Iceland in Harlesden.

Nuclear Trains passing through Brent and Harrow

In November 1999, Darren Johnson, the Green Party's candidate for London Mayor, joined members of the Nuclear Trains Action Group and Brent Green Party in Harlesden to highlight the dangers posed by the transport of nuclear waste through Willesden Junction sidings. See the press release and photos.

In April 2000, Darren and other members of the Green Party joined with NTAG to tour the routes through London taken by the the nuclear trains.   The group stopped at Willesden and were joined by Brent and Harrow members Tim Turner and Simone Aspis.  See the press release and photo.

In May 2000, our new banner made its first outing at the NTAG demonstration in Harlesden.  See the photo.

Tim had a letter published in the Wembley Observer in March 2001

Artificial Water Fluoridation in London

The government is hoping to 'legally oblige' water authorities in London and several other target areas to add artificial fluoride to water supplies. We believe that this poses a serious threat to health as well as being an infringement on our right to receive safe water. See further details and links on fluoridation and some photos.

In October 1999, we held an open meeting, with Jane Jones, campaigns director for the National Pure Water Association speaking. See the press release.
