Candidate thanks Green voters As recent by-election candidate for Queens Park, let me first congratulate Simon Green on his Lib Dem win and extend my commiseration to candidates Lesley Daisley and Gurmaj Dhillon. Your paper also deserves thanks for its comprehensive and conspicuous coverage. Whilst it would have been consoling for us to have beaten the Tories - who, in your words, "narrowly edged out the Green Party" - our commitment to gaining political representation has never been stronger. Our reception on the streets of Queens Park and Kensal Rise was heartfelt throughout. We, in turn, applaud over two hundred Green voters for putting their confidence in our progressive political agenda in the cut and thrust of a by-election scenario - they have stuck with us and we will be back for more. Days after the result, people still choose to display our by-election posters. They must know that Brent Greens, after a little rest, are returning to the electoral campaign for the upcoming London Assembly on 1 May. We have every intention of not just beating the Tories.
